I rushed to read this book because it reminds me of a script I once read. "Brothers of the Head" is about Siamese twin brothers who begin life in a carnival, are exploited by various managers and promoters, and wind up becoming a punk band in early-1980s Los Angeles. The story is told from different perspectives, sort of like "Citizen Kane." I always remembered the script, thinking "it's brilliant, but no one will ever make it." A movie was finally produced in 2005, the setting changed to 1970s England:

A YouTube comment - "this film broke my heart, but the brothers were hot and the music was awesome"
The "Head" refers to a 3rd head on one of the brother's shoulders. It's a 3rd brother, who may or may not be alive. In "Love Will Tear Us Apart," the Sparks sisters discover a long-lost half-sister. There are many other similiarities - and by pointing them out, I mean no disrespect to the book. It's a great read, especially for Gen-Xer's like me who are alternately facscinated and confused by today's Pop Culture.
